Good Neighbor Environmental Board
A member of the TCEQ serves on the Good Neighbor Environmental Board, a border-wide committee that advises the U.S. President and Congress.
Since 1997 TCEQ has been participating in the Good Neighbor Environmental Board (GNEB), an advisory board to the president and Congress on U.S.-Mexico border environmental infrastructure. The GNEB is charged by federal law to produce annual reports .
Chairman Jon Niermann was appointed to represent Texas on the GNEB , Border Affairs staff assists in preparing each year’s GNEB report, and most recently participated in the 19th GNEB report: "Energy Production, Transportation and Demand in the Transborder Region: Opportunities and Impacts" .
