Revised Total Coliform Rule Workshop – Wichita Falls

The TCEQ is hosting FREE workshops for Public Drinking Water Systems to assist in complying with the Revised Total Coliform Rule (RTCR).

Licensed Drinking Water Operators can receive up to 4 CEUs for attending.

Effective March 30, 2017, all public water systems are required to comply with the RTCR. The RTCR establishes a maximum contaminant level (MCL) for E. coli.  The rule uses E. coli and total coliform levels to initiate a “find and fix” approach to prevent fecal contamination from entering the drinking water distribution system. The operator uses these levels to identify sanitary defects and fix them. TCEQ adopted the RTCR at the commission agenda meeting on March 8, 2017. To find out more about the RTCR, visit the agency’s RTCR webpage.
